With winters come our heavy-duty moisture-rich skincare routine. And Lip Balms are an eminent part of it.
Thank god for blessing the lip balm manufacturers with the idea of using bullet packaging for lip balms. It makes the application so much convenient and mess-free. 😌
But have you ever realized that you actually do not use the quantity of the product you pay for? It's almost 1/4th of the product that you throw away in the dustbin without even using it.
I find it really painful to see my friends, sisters, and cousins throwing away their hard-earned money as trash.
And when I try to point out that still much balm is left in the bullet, and why are they throwing it away. the similar answers that I get are, "But the bullet doesn't allow me to utilize that last bit", "I try to use my nails to dig out the product upto some extent but at last I just give up on the remaining product", "The packaging was designed like that only, not my fault.", etc., etc. - I completely get it, ladies!

If you feel like your lip balm finishes up too soon or just like me, throwing away that considerable amount of the product is a painful experience for you, I am here to help you.
Today, I am back with a brand new hack for this Tipsy Tuesday to help you utilize even the last bit of your lip balm and enjoy your favorite product to the fullest.
Wait, what??
Yes, you heard that right!
Come on, let's dive deep into this little magic...
Products required for carrying out this magical operation
- Used lip balm bullets
- A thin long pointed tool; can be a plastic toothpick or the pointed edge of a rat tail comb
- A small plastic or glass container to store the revived lip balm
- A bowl with some warm water
- An old lipstick or food color (optional)
- Any favorite essential oil or Glycerine (optional)
The Magical Procedure
Since you have collected all the required products, so let's begin.
Step 1: Collect at least 2-3 used lip balms and open the cap of the bullets.
Step 2: Using the thin long pointed tool, scoop out the remaining lip balm from the bullet into a small clean and dry container.
All this while you were throwing away so much of the product.
Surprised, right??
Step 3: You can simply use the scooped out lip balm from the container. Yeah, it was that easy.
However, if DIYs excite you, then jump on to the next step.
Step 4: Lip balms generally have a faint tint of color. Many lip balms in the market are unpigmented as well. But have you ever wished to get a lip balm in a shade similar to that of your favorite lipstick? Once in a lifetime, we have all wished for that one shade. What if that's not available in the market? Let's make one of our own.
Simply scrape off some of your favorite lipstick/food color and add it to the container filled with scooped-out lip balm.
Tips
Tips
- Do not use liquid lipsticks/food color here. Bullet lipsticks and powdered food colors can only be used for best results.
- You can adjust the intensity of the tint based on the amount of lipstick you add. The lesser the amount of lipstick added, the lighter will be the tint of the lip balm.
Step 5: Tightly close the lid of the container and place it in the bowl filled with warm water for about 5 minutes.
Step 6: After 5 minutes, take out the container from the bowl and open its lid. By this time, the thick lip balm and the lipstick would have melted down to a smoother and softer texture.
Step 5: Simply take the same toothpick or rat tail comb that you have used to scoop out the balm from the bullet and mix the lipstick and lip balm present in the container really well. and voila, your beautiful tinted lip balm is ready.
Bonus Tip: You may add a few drops of your favorite essential oil or Glycerine to it to add that extra punch of moisture.
